The first Jackson Heights Poetry Festival, a three-day event that opens on Thursday, will feature workshops, poetry slams and outdoor readings. Ishle Park, a 30-year-old Queens native and the borough's first female poet lauerate, will perform her work along with six other poets at the Garden School on Saturday, the last day of the event.
